DCHI and Netherlands Red Cross will present academic insights and focus on how together with private sector partners and humanitarian organisations, we can co-design solutions. This session will also offer a great virtual networking opportunity.
On the 24th of November DCHI and the Netherlands Red Cross will host the next DCHI Academy and Focal Point Café. Here we will present to you academic insights on the area of humanitarian aid and discuss how we can best connect and apply research directly to humanitarian action. After that there will be a great virtual networking opportunity. By connecting participants from academia, private actors and humanitarian organization we aim to co-design solutions for wicked problems in ‘everyday’ humanitarian action during this event.
15.00-15.45 Plenary cases
First Rebecca Price will talk about finding common ground and why Collaboration works. After that Noemi Fuentes will discuss how to design for humanitarian action by discussing tangible results that were created through her work on Urban Heatwaves.
15.50-16.45 Networking Session
In this second part we will work together towards a ‘Call for action’ by exploring which steps academia and humanitarian and private actors can take to launch this within your organization.
