DCHI Summer Event inspires partners to take the next steps in humanitarian innovation

Event – June 2nd, 2017

On the 1st of June 2017, the partners of the Dutch Coalition for Humanitarian Innovation (DCHI) came together at VNO-NCW  for the DCHI Summer Event. Just over one year since the official launch of DCHI in March 2016, more than one hundred partners came together to look back at the results of the first year, and look towards the future.

With both speakers and participants coming from a range of different backgrounds, the program of the day reflected the diverse nature of the Coalition. From Hans de Boer from VNO-NCW to Major General Martin Wijnen of the Royal Netherlands Army, and from Claire Barnhoorn from Aidmetrics to Prof. dr. Bartel Van de Walle from the Delft University of Technology, all came together in support of humanitarian innovation.

A range of other DCHI innovation projects and projects from partners of DCHI, from creating water out of air to making fertilizer from urine, were presented at the innovation market afterwards. Ready to take the next steps in humanitarian innovation, new connections continued to be made over drinks for over two hours, marking a successful event bringing the DCHI network together.
